January and again on the way back from Phoenix and Tuscon, Arizona March, 2015 ........ Hondo, Texas

Hondo, Texas

Spent Christmas and New Years with the good folks in Hondo, Texas at the Lone Star Corral, Hondo, Texas.  Could not take pictures, my camera went south...believe the battery needs replacing....darn the luck.

Didn't get in on the decorating, but did get in the "undecorated" event.  Stopped counting the containers after about 15 tubs of decorations.  Everything had to be individually wrapped before storing in the containers and up the stairs for their next Christmas.  Oh, what fun we had laughing and joking with the gang.  These are some colorful characters at this park....fun...fun...fun....

Will be moving over to Rayford R.V. Park for a Chapter 10 rally, staying for a week.
Then a week long cruise.
A free week
Feb 2 start a week of doctor appointments
Then heading out to the Good Sam Rally in Phoenix and to the Escapade in Tuscon, Arizona.

This year looks like it will be a good and exciting year of travel.  It will be FUN.

March, 2015 ..................................... Escapade, Tuscon, Arizona

March, 2015 is the 55th Escapade, being held at the Pima County Fairgrounds, Tucson, Arizona.

Off of I-10, Exit 273, Rita Road.

It is great to see folks we know from our home base at the Escapees Park in Livingston, Tx.  We have met and traveled with Chick and Debby, and have once again worked with Tom and Debbie, who are also ham radio operators.  In fact, Tom is the one who got Bob interested again in being a ham radio guy. Donna, Kay and Bill, Carry and Mike, Solita and Russ, Sharon and John, are just a few of the folks here.

This week is going to be busy with attending Geek on Tour computer seminars, woodcarving, one-stroke painting, connectivity and staying on line, with lots of free prizes from the vendors and the co-op parks.

Lots of good food from the vendors, the local restaurants and guess what, Wal-mart is only about two miles from here.  Talk about this place being convenient.

We got a full hook up site, however, we were not able to keep the truck connected to the R.V. which we wanted to do as Bob was wanting to do a few projects but need to have the RV and truck close together.....solar, wiring, etc.  But it is not meant to be.  They said we were taking up too much space and have to disconnect....okay......

May 23, 2014 - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania  at the Harrisburg R.V. Campground on Highspire road.    Site 106.  Beautiful weather yesterday when we arrived, but rain all day today Thursday, May 24.  We already met with Brian and Jenn for a very nice visit, but Brian has to work tonight so had to cut our visit short.   Socializing for this weekend.

Terri and Jerry just pulled in next to us.  Have not seen these Holiday Rambler guys for about two years, and the last time we were on the interstate going south and they were going north to Gillette, Wyoming to a Holiday Rambler rally.  Just passed each other going in opposite directions, and who would have thought we would be side by side here in Pennsylvania.
\
They came to visit us while we were in Dallas/Fort Worth and we went to the stockyards and Jerry bought an iron stand he wanted for his newly built bar-b-que, kitchen, casita.

We went on a brown bag bus tour.  We have gone on many bus trips before but this one was totally unusual.  When boarding we were each given a brown bag.   Little did we know at the time we were going to be given goodies from each of the stops we toured.    Yes, like a loaf (each) of bread from the bread store, the cheese factory, given a bag of Dutch Country Noodles, Yoder microwave popcorn, and I bought cheese, soap from the camel farm, given samples at the Amish school house, and bought meat at the meat market.  What a wonderful day.  I asked if everyone of our tour guide's trip were this much fun, she just laughed and said "I'm glad you enjoyed yourself".  Did we ever, it will be a day trip we are not likely to forget for a very long time.

Friday, Sept. 13

Guess what?  Bob was re-introduced at the Escapee's Escapade in Gillette, Wyoming this year to the Ham Radio Group.  Apparently Bob read from front cover to back cover all about electronics and being a ham radio operator when he was a mear teenager.  I DIDN'T KNOW THAT!  We won a massive book on.........you guessed it....becoming a ham radio operator.  He studied and took his test last evening....and passed the "Tech and the General" portion.  And...he PASSED both of them in a little over 45 minutes.  He is smarter than the average bear.                              He is now waiting for his call letters.

There is a group of about 20 folks here in the Livingston area.  The president is a Chiropractor and it works down from there.  This park has a number of  folks (including women) who also have their license.  Me.....don't believe so....I don't know a compositor from a resister..............Bob said I will learn........................heck I'M still trying to master "facebook".

We made the Escapees magazine

We are at Livingston, Tx.  This month belongs to the doctors.  Altitude problem in Denver, Colorado is proving to be just that "altitude".  His last week's blood test is "Normal" and got a call today about his stress test...and it is also "Normal".  YEAH!

We bought a new to us grill.  It is called BIG GREEN EGG.  It grills, slow cooks, bakes, smokes, and roasted.  T-bone steaks, pork chops, and sirloin steaks have become our favorite.
